1. General principle

Use FilesUp only for content you have the right to process and share, with legitimate recipients and for lawful purposes. Do not exploit the private or temporary nature of links to conceal prohibited activity.

These rules form part of the Terms and Conditions. Context, intent, scale, repetition and risk of harm are considered when measures are applied.

2. Illegal content and serious harm

  • Child sexual abuse or exploitation material, grooming, sexualisation of minors or related content; do not send copies of such material in a report.
  • Illegal terrorist content, operational instructions for violence, credible threats, extortion or direct facilitation of crime.
  • Non-consensual intimate imagery, stalking, doxxing, severe harassment, sexual exploitation or human trafficking.
  • Goods, services or data whose possession, sale, transfer or availability is illegal.
  • Content that infringes copyright, trade marks, trade secrets, privacy, data protection, image rights or other third-party rights.

3. Security, fraud and unwanted communications

  • Malware, ransomware, spyware, stolen credentials, or tools and instructions intended to compromise systems without legitimate authorisation.
  • Phishing, deceptive impersonation, fraud, financial schemes, manipulation of recipients or links that abusively conceal their destination.
  • Spam, unsolicited bulk delivery, unlawfully obtained contact lists or use that breaches electronic-communications and marketing rules.
  • Attempts to bypass authentication, quotas, expiry, rate limits, file restrictions, revocations, safeguards or moderation decisions.
  • Vulnerability research, scraping, load testing or automated access without written permission where it may degrade, probe or compromise the service or third parties.

4. Personal data and recipients

Do not upload personal or confidential data without lawful grounds and suitable safeguards. Remember that FilesUp does not provide end-to-end encryption and anyone with the complete bearer link can access it while valid.

Do not use contact details for marketing without consent or another lawful basis. Invitations needed for a requested share are transactional and must not be used as a pretext for unwanted advertising.

5. Detection and measures

FilesUp does not assume a general obligation to monitor all content. We may, however, review reports, technical signals and available information to detect abuse and comply with valid orders.

Depending on risk and severity, we may request information, limit traffic, block an object or link, prevent downloads, preserve evidence, suspend a feature or account, close an account and report to authorities where legally required.

Measures seek to be specific and proportionate. In urgent cases we may act before hearing from the user. Where possible and permitted, we will explain our decision and offer reconsideration through abuse@filesup.app.

6. Reporting content and abuse

Any person or entity may notify specific content they believe is illegal or breaches these rules. Include the exact URL, reasons, contact details where applicable and a good-faith statement so we can make a diligent decision.

Do not download, forward or attach suspected material merely to prove a report. If someone faces immediate danger, contact emergency services or a competent authority first.
