Send an online report
Describe where you accessed the content, what you saw and what happened. The report is sent directly to the team responsible for the abuse contact.
1. When to use this mechanism
Use this page to report specific content you believe is illegal — for example, infringement of intellectual property or privacy, fraud, malware, threats, child sexual abuse material or non-consensual intimate imagery — or a breach of the Acceptable Use Policy.
To exercise rights over your personal data without reporting content, contact privacy@filesup.app. For ordinary account or upload support, use the general contact shown on the site.
2. What to include
- A sufficiently substantiated explanation of why you believe the content is illegal or prohibited, including the law or right affected if known.
- The exact electronic location: full conversation/transfer URL and, if possible, the file identifier or name. Do not publish the link elsewhere.
- Your name and email address, except for a report concerning potential child sexual abuse/exploitation offences covered by the legal identification exception.
- A statement that you believe in good faith that the information and allegations are accurate and complete.
- Information about urgency, current risk and any report reference from an authority. Do not send identity documents unless we later request them as strictly necessary.
3. What happens next
Where a notice includes an electronic contact, we will acknowledge receipt without undue delay. We will assess the information in a timely, diligent, objective and non-arbitrary manner, considering the nature of the content, urgency and the rights of those involved.
We may seek clarification, block or remove content, revoke a link, preserve information, take no action where details are insufficient, and notify authorities where required. If we have your contact details, we will communicate the decision and available redress unless legally prohibited or doing so would endanger an investigation.
An abusive or knowingly false report may breach the Terms and the law. The mechanism does not replace a court order or guarantee that FilesUp can determine complex legal questions without further information.
4. Emergencies and reconsideration
If someone faces an immediate threat to life or physical safety, contact emergency services or competent authorities before writing to us. FilesUp is not an emergency service.
If a decision affects your content or account, you may request reasoned reconsideration at abuse@filesup.app, identifying the decision and explaining why it should change.
5. Basis of this mechanism
This mechanism is structured to receive sufficiently precise and substantiated electronic notices in line with the notice-and-action mechanism in Article 16 of the Digital Services Act (Regulation (EU) 2022/2065). The regulation's application in a particular case depends on the legal classification of the service and circumstances.
