1. Authenticated request in the app
In FilesUp for iOS or Android, open Settings, choose Delete account, review the consequences, request a fresh OTP, and type DELETE. The API returns a reference and status token only at that point; keep them to track processing after the session is revoked.
This deletes the account; it is not a pause or deactivation. Do not share the code, status token, or FilesUp links with anyone.
2. Request without reinstalling the app
If you cannot use the app, send the request to privacy@filesup.app from an email linked to the account, or identify the linked phone number and a safe contact method for verification. State clearly that you want to permanently delete the FilesUp account.
We ask only for information proportionate to verifying identity and protecting recipients or other people. Never send an OTP, email password, identity document, or secret link unless we specifically and lawfully request what is necessary.
3. Data deleted and effects
The request revokes sessions and push installations, invalidates public links, cancels pending operations, and deletes or disassociates identities, profile, conversations, messages, files, thumbnails, archives, preferences, and technical data associated with the account under the FilesUp process.
Recipients can no longer download the binaries. Processing across distributed systems and service providers may be asynchronous; the reference lets you track the result.
4. Limited retention and contact
We may preserve strictly necessary records where required by law, fraud or abuse prevention, a pending report, litigation, or the need to evidence the deletion request itself. This exception is limited to the applicable purpose and does not keep the account active.
To start or clarify an external request, contact privacy@filesup.app. To report content, use the Report mechanism; a report does not replace account deletion.
